How many are thinking of twin turbo's on these motors ? I am thinking it would produce a lot more HP and get up then the 2600 . I don't know about the cost yet if it is worthy or not.

Why would you want twin turbos when the LT4 is a supercharged engine. If I were you I would go with a bigger supercharger and call it done!

Definitely worth the $$$, the ZL1 could sure you use more aftermarket modifications to make it feel more responsive.

It would cost way more and have less torque under the curve. IMO it would be worth it if you wanted a 2 miler top speed car but not worth it for a street light to street light or a 1/4-1/2 mile car.

Turbos would be the ultimate power adder but its costly to get right.

Overall, though, a bit less low end torque than what the monster 2650 or the upcoming 3100 delivers can even be an advantage on a RWD platform. If there is significantly more power up top, I see how a twin turbo setup may be attractive.

Which is exactly what I did: drove it 300 miles then sent it to HPE who added some boost to make it much more responsive in all gears.

Back to this thread, it wouldn't make any sense to add twin turbos to a car designed for a supercharger. If you want more than 200 hp, buy a full custom engine and add boost but you'll still have massive traction problems.

Twin turbos would get you into the 8s but for a street car it’s over kill. It’ll cost a lot more. I would guess about 20k at least to get it all right. The 2650 can be all set up for 15k, make 850-900whp and run in the 9s all day.

Turbos also require a lot of back and forth tuning to make things right. With the 2650 about 1 day and your solid.

Wondering how many in this thread has ever built or tuned a turbo motor.

Judging by the comments, I’m getting a pretty good idea.

I love turbos!

But with the ZL1, the added complexity of turbos gains very little over a well setup 2650.

A serious car would do better since NHRA Factory Stock cars have evolved into 7-second production-based machines - Cobra Jet Mustangs, COPO Camaros, Drag Pak Challengers
