Good rotor options for zl1s?

Hey I am looking into some new rotors for my zl1- I know that the brembos on the cars are good but I’m looking for slotted/drilled. Has anyone used R1 Concepts or have any reviews on those? Or have any other suggestions? I typically just use my car for street use not doing track right now- if I do I’ll switch stuff out so I just need good street brakes.

Really wish these guys made something for the ZL1. I had a set on my Hellcat. Nice weight savings and a better quality rotor.

https://www.girodisc.com/

The front rotors are 24.4 lbs vs. 31 lbs for the stock Hellcat 2 piece units. The rear rotors are 18.9 lbs vs. 24 lbs for the stock units.

Can you give me more specific feedback on the setup you had on your Hellcat? Noticeable difference in handling/braking/acceleration to justify the cost?

I've been contemplating getting them for my Hellcat for a year now.

These are for serious competition track, I don’t think your tracking your challenger would be a waste of money.

A good bit lighter and its unsprung weight so thats the most effective weight to take off. They're also built better than the factory Brembo rotors which are known to warp and/or develop hot spots after 20-30k miles.

They don't show up if you use their normal make/model layout. BUT, if you type "6th gen camaro" in the search box both sets front/rear come up. They are $550 per rotor front or back.

How much are the replacement rotors, once you have the girodisc hats?

One forewarning, the front Girodisc rotors don’t use the same pad shape as OEM they cut the pad for a bit more radial depth as the hat is a larger diameter. The closest pad shape that is mass manufactured is the SS 1LE but it doesn’t perfectly cover the rotor a little bit of rotor face is left exposed near the hat. Check out the videos by KNS Brake and you’ll see what I’m referring too.

since OEM pads can not be used with girodisk rotors - does anyone know what size pads are needed? e.g. is it the SS 1 LE pad size? i am asking to see if this option help improve the pad selection available....

The SS 1LE pad size is near perfect just a couple mm of rotor space being unused, but it’s the best pad shape that’s largely produced as for a perfect fit requires a custom pad shape.

There was another thread discussing this (https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showt...=563737&page=4) - moral of thread: OEM brembo rotors are best for durability and longevity. DBA and gerodisc, too many compromises to be any better given they are comparable or higher than OEM in cost.
