Do I have to delete AFM/DOD?

I've owned several 92-95 fbodies over the years, but this 2017 is my first experience with a Gen V and all of the features that come with a modern setup.

If I wanted to retain AFM/DOD functions, am I stuck with the stock cam or are there options available? This is a street toy / daily driver; the local strip has been closed for years and turned into a park. As much as I love the sound of a lopey cam, I'm not sure if I really want to give up AFM/DOD functions at this point. Maybe I'm better off trying a blower setup this time around?

(feel free to point me at a FAQ/"Newbs read this" thread if I've missed it)

I think Comp Cams is the only company still doing cams with both AFM and VVT:

Ok, I see the XFI stuff. 220/232 117LSA doesn't seem bad for a street cam.
Thank you

Hey James! I remember you from the 4th gen LT1 days over @ LS1tech.

Anyhow I believe most vendors have moved away from AFM cam's because they don't seem to gain a lot of power for the effort and they don't seem to like much RPM. I would opt to delete AFM, put regular lifters in all 16 holes, and do a mild cam that still retains some VVT(4 degree limiter) with <6500rpm shift points. If you want to rev higher then that then I would opt for VVT lockout. The cam phaser has shown to become unstable at high rpm and cause PTV issues.

If im not mistaken i think they turn of the afm function on the tune for a supercharger. From reading i have done the gas savings isnt really that much and the lifters are known issues to fail.
