2017 A10 ZL1 vs 2013 ZR1-$3k mods on both-winner?
As the title says, both vehicles start off stock and you get $3000 for mods, which one wins at the track and straight line and rwhp when done?

I would think the ZR1 due to difference in weight and handling characteristics. The ZR1 was a purpose built Corvette to compete with the supercars of the world and is still awesome in my opinion.

ZR1 for everything 'Greg said. And - that 2300 has a LOT of potential. With the right combination, that'll get you close to something like 800-some-odd-RWHP-plus easily. That isn't within a $3K budget, but I think ZR1 will still be superior.
Blower porting, TB, 5-inch intake, LTs, E', and a tune, and it'll be more fun than it already is. All that is still higher than this budget, but so easy and effective, from everything I've seen.

Would be interesting to see. The 2013 ZR1 is a C6 so it is two generations behind the C8.
I think the A10 in the ZL1 would be the difference and the ZL would come out on top on most tracks.

The ZR1 wins in most head to head contests.
And if modded, it doesn't require as many fuel system mods. Thus, it wins there too. This shared, you can't carry two adults and two kids in a ZR1! |

I happen to have both those 2 cars exactly. The ZR1 is bone stock 60th Anniversary edition. The ZL1 has roto fab intake and Mamo throttle body. They both run pretty darn good. I would give a very slight edge to the ZR1. With 3k worth of mods I would predict the same results. My opinion is the 10 speed auto in the Camaro makes up for a lot of the weight penalty but still advantage ZR1. Now, put a 10 speed auto in the ZR1 and that might be something to really talk about!!!!!!

Great observations. I was looking at a 2013 ZR1 prior to my purchase of the 2017 ZL1 auto. I'm a camaro guy at heart but I'm house sitting a 615hp C5 Z06 I sold to my son and with the power, lightweight and big brake kit it's a beast on track.
The 2013 ZR1 was lower miles but $25k more then what I paid for the ZL1 so budget considerations prevailed. Thanks! |
