Anyone have a Seasucker bike mount?
Let's face it, these are cars you buy with your heart and not your brain. I have two mildly expensive bikes (road and mountain) which I so often will drive somewhere to ride (the nearest MTB trail is 50+ miles away). My last car was a 4 series hatchback and I could throw both bikes in the trunk if I needed to. Obviously I can't do that with the Camaro, so I'm exploring bike rack options. I think a trunk rack is out of the question because I have the 2SS spoiler; so it's either a seasucker talon mount (which people seem to happily install on expensive sports cars like Porsches) or god forbid, installing the GM tow hitch. Does anyone here already have a Seasucker and figure out the best way to install it on our cars? Or other tested trunk solutions with the spoiler?

Here’s a link to thread about bike racks on this forum. Haven’t read through all of them, but it might have some good info for you.

I think the majority of people here have more than one vehicle and don't use their Camaro for that. It looks like that bike carrier is good, as long as you can trust those suction cups. It shouldn't be a problem mounting that to a Camaro other than the reverse mohawk thing on the roof. Some of the trunk mount ones look like they would actually clear the wing because they go above it. Sorry I can't be of more help.

No, I do not have a sea sucker. Takes about 30 seconds to install or remove the rack.

Your roof is aluminum, not a chance I would consider that. There are a good selection of trailer hitches available and proper bike carriers for them.

I've decided to not even attempt messing with my Camaro as far as bike racks go. That's why every ride starts from my front door. My g/f has a bike rack and a Kia, we use that if we're going to take the bikes someplace, which we rarely do. But I'm sure you can make it work with the Camaro if you really want to.

vicks, any issues with the paint on your car where the suction cups attach? i was about to order the talon, but came across this thread:
https://weightweenies.starbike.com/f...t=720#p1614848 frankly that's not something i'd risk on my camaro. |

Looks like the best option. You'll need a hitch installed of course.

Hey @atx_traveler..most of the pressure comes from the main 3 suction cups are in the rear window and the single cup for the rear trunk is simply to level the bike. Paint is perfect still..only gotcha that I can think off is that you need a light bike on top. I have not tried it with a mountain bike or a cruiser.
