Another Tire Post - All Season Tires
Greetings all,
I’ve done a bit of research on A/S tires for my 1LE. I’m considering purchasing two different tire brands for each axle. Rear: Bridgestone Potenza RE 980 A\S (305/30/20) Front: Yokohama Advan Sport A/S (285/30/20) I can’t find any other A/S tires in the above stock sizes. Has anyone run two different brands on different axles? I believe this is doable provided I keep the same tire brand on the same axle. I also believe this is doable for rear wheel drive cars... I want to drive this car in all weather conditions outside of ice/snow; hence, why I’m shopping for A/S tires. TIA/cheers, B

I've got the Bridgestone RE980AS Front: 295/30-20 and Rear: 305/30-20 on my 1LE/1SS. No issues, love 'em !!!

You don't need the OE sizing, I ran and others have, too, a 275/35 on the Front and a 285/35 on the rear. Speedo wasn't off by even 1mph.

Yup, you could just go with 295 Bridgestones in the front if you want all 4 tires the same. Did that about 2 years ago and haven't had any issues. Needed A/S tires myself for the Indiana winters.

The measurement specs between oem 285 and 295 are negligible, researched the heck out of it before my purchase. After I got the tires installed, put car on drive on lift and compared my front end before pictures and after and could not see any difference whatsoever to any of the suspension components where rubbing would be an issue. I do notice better driving/handling whenever I get caught driving in the rain. Otherwise it's the same as oem tires. I just don't get too carried away driving in the warm/dry. Also, nice to know that they'll last longer and I can drive year-round. |

I would recommend the Continental DWS 06 or Michelin A/S 3+. Not sure if either come in sizes that are close enough
