Is the wideband required for e85 install?

Im looking into installing e85 pretty soon and was confused if i needed the aem wideband or not. Some ppl told me it is required and some ppl told me its not required. Any info will be appreciated.

It's not required.

A kit like this, or whichever brand you choose, and a tune, and you'll be good to go.

Not required but .... an AFR Reading through the factory CAN-bus stream that is outputted by the factory ECU, will deliver the most accurate, safe and powerful tune. Your tuner will thank you as he hooks into your system with both direct link by the OBD2 port via HP Tuners plus a few extra wires and get a direct read through your A/F gauge connect near your header or factory exhaust manifold instead of the exhaust tail pipe.

Definitely not needed but a nice tool to have and peace of mind as you can directly read it anytime without hooking up a device to see your A/F setting.

I put one in mine. In my 2016 SS I had both A/F and E85 gauge.

I agree with it being a nice tool to have. I said that out loud to my wife while posting last night I was just answering the OPs exact question though.

Let me guess..... hmmmm
Boost Gauge
Oil Pressure Gauge
Wideband Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge

(I would throw in an N Gauge too.)

1200 HP endless supply of tires and traction control issues. Do you have that down to your satisfaction? You have a monster man.

Yep! Those and an E85 gauge I haven't installed. (small cabin as you know and I want it all to look clean)

Thank you! Yeah, about 1350 at the fly (that with a 15% drivetrain loss) I drive an auto, so, could be closer to 20%, I don't know for sure. I'm pretty satisfied with traction. As satisfied as I can be, because no matter what tire I have on 20s on the street, I'm gonna spin if I get a heavy foot. But with some 315/30 toyo r888rs in the rear, I feel it's as good as I'll get on the road.

It’s one of the items that has been installed by myself and is part of my build. I always like making my car different and personal to what I think is good but others may not. Going to run the NOS and fuel lines under car this weekend and followed up with the cup holder switch and wiring next week. Gotta use that button for something.
