Poor GT350 catches fire!

Too much vibration from flat plane crank.

Maybe this wouldn’t have happened if the owner took it to one of those quick-lube places where they uggadugga the filters and plug back on. /s

Seriously, is this a common problem?

According to the Mustang community it seems to have happened to a few.

Well, how do you fix a Ford? You buy a Chevy!

Well, Ford did correct the issue and go to a cartridge filter system. My buddy has a GT350R with the revision. Also sounds like Ford took care of the guy in the video which was good to see.

I had a dodge truck my brother loaned me catch on fire while I was driving on I10. Not much fun. Flames coming out the air vents. Turned out he was parking it under pine trees and it had an electrical short that ignited accumulated pine needles under the hood.

Collete Davis, she's a pro drift driver (and a few other disciplines). Bounces between CA and FL, seen her drive over here a few times. Doesn't seem like it but she can get around the track quite well.

I could tell by her shifts that she can definitely drive!

According to what I’ve read, the vibration somehow causes it (the oil filter) to loosen up over time.
