Driver door leaking water
Hello everyone,
I have a 2017 2ss camaro and yesterday I washed my car and noticed a lot of water draining from the bottom driver door out of the drain hole. There was a minimal amount from the passenger door but a lot coming from the driver door. I do use an electric pressure washer but I always make sure to keep a good distance from windows , headlights , tail lights etc just out of common sense. Has anyone else had or have this issue? I’m thinking the outside window seal is leaking? Thanks. |

I wouldn’t worry’s bout it. Inside of the door is Considered a “wet environment”. As long it isn’t getting inside of the car it should be fine.

Water getting in the door jambs is one thing and is to be expected but the water is coming from the drainage hole on the bottom of the door itself? Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this?

Same thing Number 3 said, the inside of the door is considered wet. The exterior window seals aren't perfect and will always let water through. Can always visibly check the seals for damage and replace anything that looks off, but as previously stated if it's not getting in the car you're probably fine.

Yep, have been noticing the same thing on my end. I pull the car into the driveway, wash and dry. Then when I back the car into the garage I notice water draining from the driver side door like it's been stored somewhere.
Honestly, I've been thinking it's just part of the drainage design of the car and happy to see that others have confirmed. I may dive a little deeper to understand how this system is working.

Exactly! My driver door drains like crazy while my passenger door drains a little . I’m thinking the outside window rubber seal Has pulled back a bit due to age and use. I’ll have it checked out on my next service.

I had an older mustang (yeah I know temporary moment of insanity) and the previous owner never removed the door drain plugs. The driver and passenger doors were full of water, once I took the drain plugs out it rushed out.
If your passenger door is draining slowly then it might have debris inside keeping it from draining quicker like your driver side door. |

I checked the plugs to see if there were any obstructions. None. Basically my observation is little water gets into the passenger door thus small amount of water drainage. Driver side door allows a lot of water in thus a lot of water draining from the door. Glad to see you came to your senses and got the Camaro. Nice white 1le !
