Installing Borla Mid-pipes (#60610)

hi i'm working on installing this system on my 6th gen Camaro SS. I am doing it in my driveway on jack stands and i'm running into what appears to be a fitment issue between the two straight pipes and the X-pipe.

I removed the entire original exhaust system and when putting on the new system i cant get the two straight pipes connected into the X pipe. I can get the straight pipes into the front piece connecting to the secondary cats. I also noticed that the straight pipe has a slight bend at the end. I think thats the end that is supposed to go into the X-pipe and the bend should be pointing downward. Let me know if i'm wrong.

Wondering if anyone else has had this issue and any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

I put a 60608 (which is a resonator version of the straight pipe) in a stock exhaust system (all four cats inplace). I had to use two pieces of wood to spread the piping a little and the just slid in place. AFAIK you can't install it backwards because the pipes are only flared at one end.
