Have a 2019 1le, looking to change the tires what are a few good choices,
looking for an everyday tire that will hook up nice on a track day 1-2 times a year. Nitto nt555 G2?

Not sure we can give you good suggestions without more details. Why don't you like the OE supercar 3 tires?

My vote for a 95% daily tire is the Michelin PS4S.

PS4S and EC Sport are in that same realm better livable day-in-day-out though, the SC3 are horrific in the rain but are wordclass otherwise.



Nitto isn't quite as popular as those.

OP, do you track your 1LE? If so the choices are 3 or 4 favorites but yea, stay home in a rain storm and cold weather and tire wear is a negative..

But if you do not track, perceived handling at street speeds is not much different than less tracky tires. But if you want to test the theory of natural selection on the street then get the tracky tires. Just don't take anyone with you.

There are tons of choices of good summer tires and I would put those Nittos on the good list, but more of a compromise street/performance tire.

If you are only interested in an occasional beginners track day like me the Nittos are a good tire for that.

I am sure there are other tires that might fit the bill. I would also add cost to the equation. Opinions?

I just recently installed the Michelin PS4s on my car. I cannot express how much better these tires are over the stock Goodyear’s.

NT01 is the only Nitto I would run. And that only for track days. I have used the NT01 and NT05. The SC3R is FAR better than the NT01.



For a daily with a few track days a year, the PS4S is unbeatable. They have a 30k mile warranty.

^ what he said. I tracked my PS4S’s two weekends and daily drove them for 28,000 miles and they were great. My new 1LE has the Goodyears and I love them. They are better in the rain than the Goodyear runflats on my 17 Camaro 1SS. Those were fricking dangerous in the rain. Not sure how I drove on them for 14k miles. If you are a USAA member, I think they still have the deal on Goodyears.

You guys need to remember and not omit the fact that the manuf mileage warranty is halved when in a staggered setup. You want to put that out there and then leave out a critical caveat like that.
