2SS worth the difference?

Hello everyone, I am a long time lurker here and currently looking to get out of my 6.2 Silverado and into a 1LE Camaro. I have always had SLT and LTZ trucks, so I have been spoiled with the Bose, heated and cooled seats, NAV, etc., and really think I want a 2SS 1LE. My question is, is it worth it? Is the Bose that much better? I understand these are not the easiest cars to see out of, so I figured the cross traffic and blind zone would be helpful. Any help would be appreciated. I am a Chevy service writer if anyone has any questions I can try to help out with. Thanks

Yes, without a doubt, it's worth it! Both for the extra creature comforts as well as the blind spot safety feature.

Yes by all means buy a 2SS 1LE! If you get a 1SS 1LE that doesn’t have all the bells and whistles then you won’t be happy and regret not getting a 2SS since you are used to having everything on your Silverado trucks! It will be worth the extra cost of the 2SS option on the 1LE!

Since you are a Service writer at a Chevy dealership, see if you can drive both 1LE versions to see which one you prefer if they have both in stock!

Without a doubt it's worth it. The additional creature comforts and monitoring help compensate for the blind spots and make it that much more enjoyable on longer rides. Went on about 3 road trips so far and they were all surprisingly great with the additional features. Better than my wifes car which is a bit on the older side.

As for the Bose system. It's better than the 1SS to my rookie ears but not that much more better. If you're the type to upgrade your speakers you'll have a harder time doing that in the Bose version than the stock.

Thanks everyone...I kind of figured 2SS was the answer. My dealer typically stocks V6's and one or 2 LT1's so I don't have a lot to choose from as far as test drives. The search continues...

Top of the line is good if you want all the creature comforts- by all means go for it. Higher end models always have better re-sale value too. Manufacturer's make different rim levels to satisfy all people. I tend to prefer more "base" models. Lower price, simpler, less to go wrong, lighter in weight, etc. Better to get what you really want and be happy right out of the gate.

If you're like me, seeing placeholders for buttons annoys me. I buy only top trim cars, but used.

To the OP, when I first started the process of acquiring a camaro, I thought a 1 SS would be my choice. If I had ordered a car it definitely would have been a 1ss to keep costs down. I was able to find a car optioned the way I wanted (6 speed manual without a sunroof). This car just happened to be a leftover 2017 2ss. It was a special order car that the initial buyer did not take, I found it in April of 2018. So the dealer was ready to deal on the price.

After having the 2ss, I truly like the extra options such as heated and cooled seats and dual climate A-C and heat. The heads up display really helps in staying at or below posted speed limits as well. Leather seats were not really an issue for me or the interior lighting. The lighting is a nice extra at night.

Overall, I am very pleased with the 2ss package.

What about those dangling wire harness connectors which attach to... NOTHING!? Screw that! Top of the line every time!
