3 Mod question.
Loving my 2018 Z. Has 8400 miles and is mint. The previous owner installed a
Flow Master dual stage axel back exhaust. Curious as to the HP TQ gains by this. Next step will be the best air intake , which appears to be a Roto Fab intake. By combining these two does a 40hp 40tq seem reasonable? And finally. I understand you can go with a 10% pulley , and combining the 3 items what would the final gain be? Most important, has anyone done the above, and anyone done a Dyno before and after. Also can the three things be done without a re program? Thanks in advance. |

Congrats on your car. The exhaust and intake won’t do much for you besides sound. If any power was gained, it’s nothing close to 40whp.
If you wanna keep it simple, I would do a 2.3 upper (basically 10%). And get it tuned. You won’t be able to pulley your vehicle without a tune. But with a 2.3, intake and axleback your looking At around 600whp. |

The roto fab and axel back are for sound and appearance. You may notice a bit sharper throttle response, but I doubt you will net 10 HP. Any pulley will require a tune. Consider LTs if you add a pulley.

I did headers, 15% OD and flex fuel. I can barely keep the car on the road. Spins the tires anywhere under 80mph. It’s almost to much without drag radials.

Axleback = zero gain tune or no tune. Just more sound and tailpipe bling.
Rotofab = a bit more supercharger whine but zero power gains unless it's tuned. While plenty of folks have done it sans-tune, with the standard RF intake there's a small chance that it might mess up the MAF, throwing a CEL and dropping performance. The Bug Gulp requires a tune. 10% pulley = yes of course you'll get 10% more air into the car and a good tuner can make use of that to get you more power (up to 10% & the limit of the fuel system to keep up, which doesn't have much more headroom it it). But you will get zero gain unless it's tuned and almost certainly will throw a CEL and could damage the engine if not tuned. Lots of threads with all kinds of mods and gains are posted over in the engine mods section. Check it out: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=236 Bottom line: No gains at all for any of that without a tune. But a tuner worth his salt can likely get you +25whp without any mods at all. OEM tunes are balanced between emissions, performance, and fuel economy. The tuners job is to change this... and there's lots of room for them to work with if you're willing to give on emissions and fuel economy. Expect to spend $1000 with the tuner including dyno runs. |

It is confusing. I just talked with the tech at Roto Fab. He has been around the performance industry for quite a while, and the have seen many 20+ hp gains with just they’re intake. The stock intake is designed for the general consumer, noise, water infiltration, etc. based on this data , and many dyno sheets from experimenting on my supercharged z06 , my conclusion is that with a balanced intake , and better flowing exhaust , there should be about a 30/30 hp tq gain.
A dyno will show the results this summer. |

I’m sure the rotofab intake will pick up power without a tune but for it to really shine the tune is needed.
If looking for 3 mods for power, I would go RF CAI, lower pulley 9.17, headers, and of course a tune. I did all these and was blessed with 612whp and 642 wtq. |

In that case the intake alone should be a fine increase but don’t expect 15-20hp. More like 10 but it does make the SC sound better and also looks great for shows. Plus when you decide to void that warranty you already have that part done.

db, do what I did and put a free flowing panel air filter like a K&N, Green filters, Summit Racing and others in your stock airbox while you still have your warranty. I put a Summit Racing filter and I would say a 2 to 5 hp increase using it and it can be cleaned and oiled just like a K&N(think K&N made the one for Summit).

You’re welcome! I’d go RF Dry, but that’s me.
