I think db the 2018 takes 5W30 but I would go whatever the manual says to use! I know my 2017 takes 5W30 and that’s what I put in when I changed it last time.

I just checked the Owners manual supplement for the 2018 ZL1 and the oils you listed are for competition/track events so I would assume if you are mainly driving on the street then the oil grade is 5w30. Did you get a supplement to your owners manual? I looked it up on the web and found the info.

5W30 was replaced with 0W40 in 2019. I made the switch and replaced the oil cap. 0W40 can be used on the street and the track for the ZL1s. ZLEs have to switch to 15W50 for the track.

Uhhh my dumb. Owners manual says 5 40 for track use age. I can blame it on being a Veteran
For street usage I’ll do the GM 5w30 just to keep the extended warranty people happy.

You can use the 5-30 dexos as a substitute if the 0-40 isn't available. 15-50 were ZLEs for track use only and was to be switched immediately back to 0-40 after tracking. I'm sure dexos 5-30 is just fine otherwise. I imagine the 0-40 dexos2 is for the PVC and DI playing well together.

I will keep using 5w30 for general use in my 2017 because it is specified in the owners manual. The 2019s and 2020s are designated to use 0w40 for street usage.

My 19 ZL1 specs 0w40 dexos 2. It’s in the owners manual and on the oil cap. It’s the same engine as a 17 & 18. I would use it in an earlier car if it was me.

For Street use you're totally fine using 5w30 dexos 2 Mobil 1. 0w40 ESP Mobil 1 is a good all-around Street / track oil
