What the Hell? 2019 Corvette Z51 and Ford Explorer ST Pricing

The world has gone insane. I just came back from looking at over 40 2019 Corvettes, new, at Stingray Chevy, incentive priced to sell from $40K to Z51s at $55K. Our finance director just bought his bride a new Explorer ST for $55K...

I wouldn't pay $55K for a V6 Explore.

Mid to upper 40's for a new base stingray with a 56k MSRP window sticker. Max you can hope for is 15% maybe 18% off sticker.

still though. it's like buying a 5th gen camaro after the 6th came out only much worse.

You'll just be envious of the mid engine new corvette and have a big car payment to rub it in.

Yes indeed, the base Corvette with manual was right at $40K. They lured me over with a big incentive promise and max trade in buyout for my SS so I'm looking at the Crush ZL1 and trying to talk myself out of getting the damn thing, it's speaking to me in my sleep...

Yeah the ST is way overpriced. Should sticker fully loaded no more than $50k. $55k is getting into Lexus SUV territory which is far more classy and elegant. It’s a Ford Explorer. Unless they were to put a nice 32 valve V8 under the hood.

Not necessary. Stock Explorer ST “Performance” V6 has around 400 hp. I just saw a video where they did nothing but put a $600 tune and mix in some E85 and bumped it 100 hp. Nothing to sneeze at. It then handily smoked a Durango with the 6.4 Hemi. Then pulled a big bass boat home. 🙂

SUVs and trucks are cash cows right now for auto makers. People eat them up like candy and happily fork over 65k or more. The “luxury” or well optioned truck is the new Mercedes s-class.
