1LE or not 1LE
Ready to pull the trigger for a stablemate for the GT350R and the Focus RS but I cannot for the life of me decide whether to get the 1LE or not. 10 SPD auto for sure either way. Thoughts welcome.

What will the car be used for and are you ok with a rough ride on the street?

I feel the ride is subjective. I find my ZLE for the most part to be a fun ride. Yeah if the road is pothole riddled then it isn’t gonna be good in really any vehicles. I purchased the ZLE because I wanted the car that is supposed to be the most track capable. I do not regret it one bit. From May 24th till about the third week of October I put on about 4900 miles and would have put on a lot more if time allotted.
If you prefer a better ride and are looking for dragstrip times maybe a 10 speed ZL1 is for you. More track focused then maybe ZLE. Either way you can’t go wrong. Really you can’t as these cars are loaded with lots of performance bone stock. Transmission choice was easy for me. My Z28, Escalade, F550, Camry and Equinox are all automatic. With the Z28 being auto and a lot more dragstrip focused the choice was a no brainer for my ZLE. I could have got the 10 speed but then I would still be missing driving a manual still so it didn’t make sense for myself. The transmission discussion is a touchy one at times around here so do some reading but in the end it’s up to you. I bet any direction you will be happy. Just be realistic on the wants and uses of the vehicle. |

I’d like something more street able than the GT350R. I would like to drive this car and not have it be garage queen. My guess is to forego the 1LE.

If this is the case I would definitely get the regular zl1. if you think you 350r is rough the 1le is a good bit stiffer. I live my 1le but I got knowing what it was. Im pretty sure you can find a guy local to you to take you for a ride.

Actually if you order new and like the rear wing on the 1LE then it looks like it’s an option on the 2020MY without having to get the 1LE option.

The 1le is stiff. And IMO stiffer than a gt350r.
