ZL1 Rotofab CAI annoying high pitched whistle

I know there’s some old threads on discussions about this but there wasn’t really a solution anyone posted. So like others have talked about in the past...I replaced the stock with a Rotofab CAI. Afterwards, I’m noticing a distinct high pitcher whistle. Super annoying. I have a catback Corsa exhaust on my ZL1...you wouldn’t think you’d be able to hear that whistle.

People of past forums have said its from the angle of the blade in the throttle bottle and having a lot more air pushed harder thru. Some people say it’s the lip of the throttle bottle causing the whistle.

Solutions some suggested (1 person) was by replacing it with a ported throttle body it got rid of the whistle. Somebody else replaced with a NW103 and didn’t help.

One guy said he shaved down the lip inside the throttle body...and got rid of it.

Then everyone else said they either just went back to stock or since it’s “normal” just kept it and got use to it.

What should I do? Would a tune help? Throttle body replacement? Any solutions or insight is much appreciated!!

See if someone would loan you a different TB. They are super quick and easy to swap.

I have a ported TB with my Roto-Fab and don't have a whistle. Looks like it's TB time!

Have you talked to anyone at Vengeance Racing? They are located up where you are in Cumming! I would talk to those guys and see what they recommend!

On my 5th gen ZL1 I had the whistle issue with the rotofab. I always swapped it out when I went in for service. This what I learned.

Sure the install is clear cut however, there is ALOT of room for the elbow to be repositioned. By playing around with the elbow closest to the TB, I was always able to stop the whistle.

Do you have the sound tube? If so, an easy fix would be to remove it and eliminate some of the cabin noise.

At first i thought my engine was pinging when I heard that whistle. Is a ported TB a confirmed solution? The whistle doesn't bother me that much

Is your really noticeable with the music down and windows down at all? Mine sounds like a squeaky whistle alllll the way down the street.
