2020 LT1 purchase questions
There's a Jewel Tint LT1 automatic, NPP exhaust, and light interior that I have dibs on until tomorrow, (Friday). The price is agreeable and I like the car. I don't want the bells and whistles, I don't road race, I don't drag race, just want a performance car . I like the fact that you can rotate the tires and insurance should be a little less. I don't want a 2019 as I don't like the front.
Anyone else considering the LT1 for these reasons ? Thanks. |

I like to DR, and, yes, I do not want all the fluff they put in the SS/ZL1's. Insurance appears to be the same. Rims and tires will be the first thing to go when I get it.
I happen to like the 19's too, but wouldn't consider a luxobarge to get the V8 and I do not do V6's so the 19 is out for those reasons. That being said, ya. They are a great deal for someone looking for a fun, every day car. |

You can get a lightly used 1LE for the same price as a new LT1.

Don’t sign anything till they let you test drive a SS. When you can’t tell any difference between the two, go from there.
The only issue I had with the LT1 is the sound system...a couple subs in the trunk would fix that though. |

The 1LT does seem like a really nice platform for more or less a "base" SS. I strongly considered one but I love my current V6, M6 so much and that it runs on regular gas, and the gas mileage I am going to keep it for a long time.

I don't race at all. I have a long commute to work and prefer to enjoy it in performance cars.
So, an LT1 with NPP and the technology package would be the perfect daily driver for me. I prefer the look of the front fascia of the LT1 over the SS as well. That being said, I'll definitely be cross shopping against the 1SS when I start looking to purchase in about 9-10 weeks. Maybe I'll get luck and find a leftover 2019 1LE for 36k. ![]() |

The LT1 is a blank canvas. And also one of biggest performance bargains in all of car-dom besides the C8. It will hang with a BMW M4 for example with better tires, and is 1/2 the price.

If you're looking for a daily, and no track, skip the used 1LE and get the new LT1. New car, full warranty, and it's yours from the start. Tires are cheaper and better for all conditions. Maintenance will be cheaper too.

To the Op, seems like the LT-1 Camaro is the car for you from what you have posted! It’s a good alternative and bargain compared to the 1SS and 2SS if a person doesn’t want to have the additional equipment and options. You could always add different wheels/tires and upgrade the infotainment system at a later date if you so desire. IMHO it’s a chance for folks to get a nice V-8 Camaro without having to spend a lot of money as compared to buying an SS or ZL1!
