SS dual exhaust rear diffuser

So after looking high, low and in-between with no success for an aftermarket diffuser for the dual exhaust, I have a factory diffuser on the way and need to know what kind of prep is needed, I plan on getting it painted gloss black but need some input just to make sure the paint will stick to it without flaking or chipping off.

Prime and paint. If the texture is a little rough, then some smoothing out may be necessary.

Yea Im in the same boat. I love my dual axle back and dont want to change to quad tips. So Im thinking of just pulling the stock diffuser off and painting it flat to match my other body mods. There's real no other option out there.

Actually there is, I found a dual exhaust rear diffuser on eBay and got it for 145 bucks and I took it over to the paint and body shop not far from the house yesterday, and I am getting it painted gloss black for 223 bucks, once I get it back then I can put the car on the Quick Jack, pull the rear bumper off and replace it, I figure that I might as well do it right.

The diffuser that I found on eBay is the factory diffuser, once I get this one painted, I plan on selling mine.

Wash with warm, soapy water

Dry

Wipe down good with a gray scotch pad (automotive, not dishes )

Rinse and dry

Wipe down with an anti-static agent or Tack Cloth

Spray light coats of a Plastic Adhesion Promoter ( 3 x )

Primer ( 3 x )

Base Coat ( 4 x )

Clear coat if desired (3 x )

* Spend the time in your prep work and save yourself the headache.

Scuff everywhere with the gray scotch pad, until a dull grayish.
