Any Fellow 2020 ZL1 1LE orders? (2nd time poster intro)
Hello all! LOOOONG time stalker, new poster. I live not too far from the Milford proving grounds and way back in June 2017 at our annual F body show my brother and I spotted a pre-production (at the time) ZL1 1LE that someone from GM brought and parked outside of the show with. Took picks, made my profile, but never did get around to posting. Sorry to Intimidator from Ohio! We have really close usernames lol. Just a 28 yr old fellow Do it for Daler here who unfortunately still remembers being so saddened by Dale's death at Daytona as a 10 yr old.
A bit about my Camaro background... Dad is the original owner of a 1986 IROC Z28 convertible that he met my mom crusing Grand River back in the late 80's. Dad, when I was prob 12 or so, then bought a 2002 Camaro SS with t tops. He then prob 5 yrs ago now traded the 02 for a 2013 Camaro ZL1. My brother has a 1994 Camaro Z28 with t tops. My first car was a used 98 Camaro with the 3.8L V6 t tops navy blue metallic that I sold to help on the down payment of my 2014 Silverado that I bought new in 14 and still own today. Just a CAI and Borla Cat-back exhaust so I can have my 5.3L V8 radio to go along with the actual radio ![]() Ok so the point of the post... after years of patience, hard work, and saving I finally pulled the trigger in mid-late June on ordering my dream car 2020 Camaro ZL1 1LE M6, Black, PDR, CF fuel door, inst. panel, shift knob but I am stalled at 1100 status. I posted in the ordering section too asking Becky but thought I'd cast a wider net here too. Gearhead do you have any insight? Any fellow 2020 ZL1 1LE orders out there and what status are you at? Wondering myself if the A1Z option is on constraint for some reason or maybe the 1LE optioned cars aren't on constraint but they have dedicated build cycles and they just haven't set a TPW for the 1LE optioned car orders yet? My other concern is that the dealership I ordered through is a metro Flint family owned dealership that I would say does moderate volume sales and low volume Corvette/Camaro sales. My salesman said that I am the 1st in line to order a 2020 Camaro at their dealership, I have a $500 refundable deposit down, but I'm wondering if GM would accept my order given that this dealership doesn't have high volume Corvette sales (ie is the allocation system still in place like it was when the ZL1 first came out?) I have seen them sell a few C7 Z06 and GS over the last few years... Sorry for the huge novel guys lol. Just looking for any answers that might help. Funny how I've patiently waited for a V8 Camaro I've wanted since prob age 12, been getting financials right (paid off college loan and truck) since they announced they brought back the ZL1 trim in March of 2016, but now I have an order in and I'm suddenly very impatient lol.

Have they confirmed the 1LE for 2020? Last I knew, the ZL1 pricing for the 2020 wasn't released with the rest of the range's pricing.
That, coupled with the idea that the 1LE might be on the block as they wind down Camaro production made me go hunting for a 2019. Also curious if anyone has any real info on this... |

Start of 2020 production was Monday 7/22 including SS 1LE's and ZL1 1LE's.
FYI - the Online Dealer Order Guide still says that both A1Y (SS 1LE - if you get 2SS version) and A1Z (ZL1 1LE) both get DRZ (Rear Camera Mirror). That ended up NOT being true for the A1Z. So, for 2020, the A1Z's are basically the same as the 2019 in looks and content other than you get to pay $195 more for Red Seat Belts (not standard anymore) if you want those. Per the [now incorrect] Order Guide: (DRZ) Rear Camera Mirror is now standard on 3LT Coupe/Convertible and no longer deleted when (A1X/A1Y/A1Z) 1LE Track Package is ordered |

Koby- Yeah the 2020 order guide posted by gearheadss shows that the 1LE option codes were retained and was in fact the case when I went to order at the dealership. A1Z (ZL1 1LE) was available to select.
RUQWIKR- Dang yeah I saw the order guide was including the rear camera mirror for 2020 on ZL1 1LE so that stinks! However, I may be 28 but I'm a bit of an old soul haha. I don't really need the high tech mirror (wasn't determining factor for ordering a 2020 although would've been nice feature I'm sure). I plan on keeping this car for life so I really wanted to option it out with everything I wanted and not make concessions. A lot of the 2019 ZL1 1LEs on the lots don't have the CF instrument panel, no PDR, or some variation of options lacking that I wanted. I did see that 2020 production started 7/22 and did see in the ordering thread some guys ordering SSs had TPW. I just figured I would be further along than 1100 status at this point given my order was in at latest late June with production having started this Monday. |

Your dealer will need to have an allocation for ZL1 1LE for the order to move past 1100 status. ZL1 1LE is still limited and I believe last week, there were zero allocations for that package nationally.
There are 2020s that have been built already. We have 5 2020s already on the way to us. 1 ZL1 1LE, 1 1SS 1LE , 2 LT1 coupes and a LT1 convertible. |

Gearheadss- Thank you for that clarification! I was worried about the whole allocation situation. Is that based off of volume of Corvette sales (as I understood that's originally how ordering a 6 gen ZL1 worked when they first came out). That would explain why as I'm pretty sure this dealership doesn't do enough Corvette sales.
I thought I remembered Al O. saying they wouldn't limit production for ZL1 or ZL1 1LE back when he was still Chief Engineer for Camaro, wonder if that's changed? I did see replacement ZL1 1LE rims were back ordered on here a while back, could it be a supplier issue limiting ZL1 1LEs whether it be rims or other pieces being behind in production? |

I ordered one. Only 75 2020's coming here to Canada. My dealer was allocated one. I will update this thread as I go. I haven't heard anything yet. Ordered was submitted 3 weeks ago.

Yes my dealer was also allocated one.
Ask your dealer to see the email clarifying they have an Allocation for a A1Z. |

The car is likely limited due a supplier issue. Something that makes up that package is limited availability at this time. |

Update: My order went through! 3100 status as of last Friday. TPW of 9/9/19! I'm really excited!
![]() ![]() ![]() Was thinking how awesome it would be if my car got built on 9/11 and the story I would have with this car if it gets built on that day! That on that sunny Tuesday morning in 2001 the attacks on our people, our freedom, our values, and our way of life were meant to scare us, intimate us, try to take down America. But on the 18th anniversary of that day my Camaro, built right here in the good 'ol USA, in my home state of Michigan, if built on 9/11/19 would be the perfect proverbial middle finger to those terrorists who thought they could tear us apart and a tribute to those brave men and women lost that day!
