Another New Recruit - 2019 ZL1 1LE

Hey guys! I'm James, and wanted to introduce myself! I pick her up tomorrow, and I'm FREAKING OUT. I've worked very hard to make this dream come true, and I can't wait to be part of the community! I also got an insane deal, and would be happy to point anyone towards the dealership I worked with if anyone is the market!

I've been creeping while waiting for my account to be approved; looks like a lot of new members! Must be a good time to get in!

The car is a Mosaic Black 1LE. I'll throw some pictures in here as well. The wife has no idea what it is, and think's it's a "normal" camaro, so I'll see if I can get a video or two of our 45 minute ride home tomorrow...

Without further ado.. https://imgur.com/gallery/yWueDha

Congrats!

Be safe and don’t forget:
7. The engine should be driven at varying loads and conditions for the first 30 miles or one hour without wide open throttle (WOT) or sustained high RPM accerlerations.
8. Run five or six medium throttle (50%) accelerations to about 4000 RPM and back to idle (0% throttle) in gear.
9. Run two or three hard throttle (WOT 100%) accelerations to about 4000 RPM and back to idle (0% throttle) in gear.
10. Change the oil and filter.

Please message me the dealership info... I'm currently looking and would be willing to drive some distance to get a great deal.

I just bought the exact same car last Friday. Moved from a modified 2018 ZL1. I can't wait to get the car broke in again. I can certainly tell you the gear ratio in the 1LE makes it feel like it had the same horsepower as my 2018 that had around 750. It is certainly a bit rougher riding than the regular ZL1, but I expected that. Enjoy and keep us up to date on your thoughts.

Dealership is Victor Chevrolet in Victor, NY. (Outside of Rochester.)

I ended up around the 71k OTD mark, and that's after 8.25% for taxes. Extremely thrilled with the deal.

This is hugely helpful. What oil is the best to use post break in? I'm sure it's debated, but what's the consensus?

Also, it was my plan to change first oil at 500 miles, then again at 1500 miles, then again at 5000 miles. Is that not sufficient? (This is a long-term purchase for me; I really want to do it right.)

You have great taste! A small thing that I really love is the carbon fiber trim. It really makes it feel "Supercar-esque" to me in the cabin. Congrats to you as well!
