Odd call From Dealership Today

I received a call from the dealer that i bought my 2017 2ss coupe from wanting to know if I wanted to sell it back to them. My wife took the call and told them it was not for sale. Anyone else ever get a call like this?

About 4 months ago. It's sales tactic.

Not a call, but I do occasionally get mailings from the dealership that sold me my 2010 1LT. Nothing yet for my 2017 2SS, but it shouldn't be long.

They just want you to trade in your current car to the dealership (which they'll resell at a healthy profit over what you gave it to them for), while encouraging you to buy a new model from them for still more profit.

Mail I can handle (I get enough garbage that way) but if they were calling I'd order then in no uncertain terms to stop it

The reason why is you have equity in your car. They called me also a month ago. I have the same one as you. They know they can move your car on a used lot under a week.
I will be selling mine once the Zl1s drop down 8 to 10 k again. My 2ss A8 keeps having the torque converter issue.

I've gotten stuff in the mail never a call, just a sales tactic as mentioned by vidkidz.

Yes I received several calls from the local Chevy dealership and several calls and e-mails from the dealership that I bought my 2016 SS wanting to buy my 2016 SS in January and February of this year. I told them I wasn’t ready to trade Camaros yet and they quit contacting me!

Yeah. My local dealer I go to for service (didn't even buy the car there) is constantly nagging me by mailings every other week about special exclusive 'wont last long' discounts like $11k off MSRP or 7k off MSRP for a fricken Traverse. The deal is, they get your car which is in demand since GM completely blew it with the 19's ... they use the discount to justify buying your car for next to nothing, sell it for a profit, stick you with one of their lenders and get a kick back from the deal.

Sale back to the dealer means they just want you to do a trade in for a new car. And they still will low ball you. Its how the industry works.

What everyone else said. And if you don’t put a stop to it they will keep calling for a long time.

I often get letters in the mail from any dealerships my cars have been serviced at. They go something like "We're experiencing increased demand for used inventory of [insert make and model of your vehicle] and would like to offer you a special incentive" or something similar.

it's to get you to trade in for a new car.

What really gets me are the cards they sometimes send that are printed in a font that resembles human handwriting, as if that conveys more sincerity or some crap.
