Current ZL1 prices??
Found one!
I've been shopping for a ZL1 for over a month and I'm striking out everywhere. I'm a life long mustang guy so it's entirely possible my expectations are unrealistic, but I cant find one with any kind of discount other than the mustang conquest rebate. I swear I see rumblings of guys here buying new ones for high 50's?? I am kind of picky as I want a red hot with A10 (I'd also take blue now) but I've never worked this hard to find something and failed. Long story short, can you guys set me straight? What did you pay and what should I expect to pay right now? Last edited by 1993kramer; 06-25-2019 at 10:49 PM. |

It's always a good goal to pay the lowest price you can find. However, if your goal is to pay the lowest price for a ZL1 in the country, then you probably won't get the color or options you want, which is important for a car like this. Is a few thousand dollars that important to get the $67K MSRP car you really want, when you want it, with the color and options you desire?
Those amazing deals you hear about are usually not so amazing if the bragger is being honest (not likely). The dealer will try to get that money back like raping you on your trade in, higher interest rates, add-on charges, etc. They also don't mention that they didn't qualify all the discounts advertised. Or they add the tax savings to their 'deal'. My fav is the guy who says he 'saw' a great advertised price at the dealer down the road, but when you call said dealer, the actual, out the door cost to you is much higher. I read somewhere that dealers were in business to make money. |

I think a lot of these spectacular deals you hear about are bullshit. Especially amongst the Hellcat crowd. People just be straight up lying for whatever reason. Basically, don't look to match the magical unicorn deal that someone else claims they got. Look for the best deal you can find for what you want at the time. If you can get a brand new fully loaded ZL1 with A10 and sunroof for mid $60K or even low $60K then you got a good deal as far as I'm concerned. If you're willing to sacrifice, then you might be able to find leftover ZL1s that have the M6 trans and do not have PDR, Nav, or any other add-on options for high $50K. But don't expect to find what people are claiming. Even if they did so happen to luck out it was probably a once in a lifetime thing.

Late spring/early summer is probably peak time and price on these cars. You need to buy very late in the year or very early in the year to get the best deals. That is when the dealers are getting ready for the new model year and the manufacturer help with additional incentives. Manual, Nav, sunroof and PDR was $58k in Dec. Some IL dealers like Castle or Phillips do high volume and can offer better deals. You may need to travel out of state.
After checking cars.com there aren’t many Reds listed. Saw a few in the lower $60’s if you meet all requirements for discounts. Like I mentioned above, not the best time of year to buy if looking for the lowest deal. MSRP’s are typically 68k and up with the A10. Last edited by Realist; 06-22-2019 at 08:51 AM. |

Thanks for the input everyone. Anyone know when the next round of rebates usually start? I'm more than happy to go out of state too!

How about buying used! That’s what I did back in March and got a decent deal on a very low mileage 2017 that I considered a used/new car. Mine had everything I was looking for but my 2nd choice of color so I bought it anyway. I saved about $14,000 off it when new and didn’t take a depreciation hit as I’m the 2nd owner. There are some used 2018s and 2019s out there now that you might consider if you don’t mind buying a used one!

And I bought mine out of state and traded my 2016 SS in on it. I found it on Cars.com at a dealer in S.C about 4 hours from my home in West Central part of Georgia. Good luck!

I bought used 2018 A10 last March with 450 miles. Paid 56k before ttl. I think it was a good deal. Other than that I was going to get new for about 62k. I feel like I got the better end.
Found one used with low miles and don’t look back. Negotiate and don’t be afraid to walk away. |

Oh no absolutely I'd take a used one! I have the perfect one locally 2017 with A10 and 11000 miles at a dealer. They asking $52 I offered $50K cash and he wouldn't even take it to his manager!!! I couldn't believe it... Honestly I'd probably pay 52k but I was disgusted by how I was treated. Theres an absolute perfect one on this very forum in the classifieds but he hasn't logged in to answer... Agh!!!

Hey Kramer, check on Cars.com website and do a 250 mile or 500 mile search and see what’s out there! I think if you had offered the dealer $51,000 you might have it now. Not for sure though as the dealer I got mine from wouldn’t come down from the internet price either saying they offered it at the lowest they could which I know wasn’t true. I bought it anyway because it was too good of a deal and car to pass on!

November-March !(Nobody wants a sports car in winter)March this year were the best deals, I'm getting one for sure end of this year or spring/March, but if the color I want and price are in a 500 mile radius I'm jumping on it !
