Did the ghost of Cannonball Baker or Brock Yates act as the unofficial starter? I would hope that some mention of these folks was made.

My daughter has done this. It is called, Race Armada from Houston to Lake Charles. There is a California one too and starts June 12th.

I compete in the actual Cannon Ball each year. It was re named One Lap of America, and it is put on by Brock Yates Jr now. Did ok this year in the ZLE, the car had more but I was new to the car so I was learning it as I was competing. Finished 2nd in class, 3rd in the stock class, and 11th out of 77 overall. I did it in my 2014 Z/28 in 17 and it did equally well.
This is the car after 3700 miles, and 8 track days in a row!
