RPM Rollbar Full Seat Motion?

Can anyone with an RPM Rollbar and stock ZL1/ZL11LE Seats let me know how much motion the stock seats have after installation?

I am thinking about getting the 4 point RPM Rollbar and want to make sure the stock ZL1 seats have enough range/motion/recline

Hopefully i will have mine in a week or two but I'm sorry I won't be much help to you. I will be installing racing seats and 6 point harnesses at the same time.

If you are putting a roll bar in the car for street use I would strongly recommend you reconsider. If you are involved in an accident and your head makes contact with the bar you are likely to sustain serious injury or worse. You may consider a Scroth 4 point restraint with ASM technology so you would be held firmly down in the seat in an accident.

If your car is a 100% track car like mine then you will always be wearing a helmet so hitting the roll bar with your head won't be so bad if you retain the stock seats and seatbelts.

I will be installing 6 point belts as well, just using stock seats, and car is primarily track only

Make sure you have a good friend if your doing the install yourself. It was hard for me to figure out how to cut the carpet to get it to look good when I was finishing up the install. The rear inner liners need to come out, there is a lot to do so just take your time.

How do you suggest cutting the carpet? The instructions say to take apart of lot of things, center console, door sills? is it necessary?

I didn't take the console out, it might have been easier. I did take off the door seals and folded the carpet towards the console. I didn't do a good job on cutting the carpet so I'm won't give any advice on that. You'll have to figure that one out on you own. You have to got in from the pass side but it wasn't easy. I didn't get any instructions that I recall with mine so I guess me complaining about that might have made a difference for the rest of you. It really stiffens up the chassis. Good luck and hope you ordered the chromoly since it a bunch lighter then the mild steel.

Its the cap that covers the edge of the carpet, it pops right off and covers that rubber seal that you see in the pictures

As you can see in the picture you helmet won't be hitting the roll bar at any time with an Rpm

ok, that will make it much easier, you'll just have to slit the carpet behind the bar that mounts to the floor.
