Anyone have this issue - Throttle not reading 100%
The issue - my car on the road course will not read 100% throttle in either the Cosworth charts or PI Toolbox. It was reading like 96.5% this past two days. In one area of the track does it read 100%, but not consistently. YES my foot is buried through the floor board. This has been going on for the three events I've done in the car.
So i had it at the dealer last week prior to the last event which was just this week (Mon/Tues)and they said they did a software update and replaced the black piece on the side of the throttle body that my buddy and I call BS on. On my way home that evening I recorded two full throttle runs after the car was warm and it displayed 100%, but not at the track. My buddy who is a fellow member on this board and has the same car except being a 17', we stuck his memory card in yesterday while at the track and it shows 100%. I also have a file from another friend with an 18' from an event we all three did in November and his shows 100%. We also took a spare stock throttle body and put it on my car, yesterday I ran a session and nothing. Still not registering 100%. The dealer didn't bleed the system despite my request(they move a lot of vettes)and the guy i deal with is their vette guy and he knew about the LT4 air in the system issue, so that ticks me off in hindsight and wasn't happy at the time they didn't do it. Their reason was the tech determined it wasn't necessary due to the software update. My car is bone stock btw. So just wondering if anyone else has run into this. We're thinking its in the drive by wire pedal assembly at this point, maybe air in the system.

Only asking because I see no mention of it, are you running the same nanny setting (aka Touring, sport, track) as your friends? From my understanding is that the different settings can affect this as well.

Good thought, but we're all running it in the track setting mode Sport 1 back in November I believe, so all equal. This past couple of days I stayed in Sport 1 and he was sport 2, so that should rule out full throttle on the straights.

I just watched a couple of my 1/4 mile recording, it registered at Full throttle at 100% even with wheel spin and Touring Mode. Something is off on your car for sure, hopefully someone else can chime in, to help.

I believe this isn't necessarily uncommon. It might depend on what software you're monitoring with. I know you said you were using something, but can tell you that I use HPTuners, and even with the foot floored, the throttle can still register less than 100%. I'm not sure if that means the actual blade is less than 100%, or that's just how it's registering in the software, but it might not be that big a deal.

I won't argue as that can be valid, but I'm viewing it through the provided GM Cosworth tool and the Pi Tool box which is just another software to view the data from the car. Also my terminal speeds are down compared to almost identical cars and exit speeds in the preceding corner. I'm also reading the same PDR files of those referenced cars on the same software and they show 100%.

Could it be associated with the torque management tables in the stock tune slightly closing the blade or maybe even bad gas?

The first I agree with, anything is possible. As I stated the dealer said they did a software update, to what I don't know. The 2nd, no, all the cars I'm referencing, we're all running the same gas from the VIR pumps.

My small experience is you never see 100% maybe 88% is the highest I remember looking at my SRT Jeep with the torque app. I dont think my Chnallenger read past 80%.
Most TB I have tested run .5 VDC to 4.5 VDC. If my OBD bluetooth will work on my Camaro ill see if I can see it in Torque sometime. |
