The Quest for NA 500hp Wheel, Please help
Good afternoon fine folks of the Camaro forums. I have some questions, and you have the answers. Looking to start doing the next round of mods. I would like to make 500hp to the wheels while staying NA. So I have mapped out 2 routes for me to go, unless you guys have an alternative route. Please any help or comments would be appreciated **Transmission is A8** **Current Output** 440Hp / 469Tq output (See Giant Dyno sheet) My current mods list/ 440Hp/469Tq output (See Giant Dyno sheet) -ARH Headers Cat Delete 1-7/8" x 3" -E85 Flex fuel kit (courtesy of Lethal Garage) -Stock muffler with NPP Route 1: -MSD Intake Maifold -RotoFab intake -Nick Williams 103 MM Throttle body -Tune Concerns with route 1: I do have some reservations about the MSD Intake manifold , Most of what ive read up on it seems as if it its not worth it, loosing mid range power or just to expensive for what you get, better off porting stock? Route 2: -RotoFab Intake -Cam Swap( Including, VVT Delete, DOD Delete, Cam, Springs, and pushrods) -Tune Concerns with route 2: Cant go wrong with a cam. But will stock muffler hinder the sound of the glorious cam? and will it lose potential hp/tq because of restriction? Heard that stock muffler is actually not all that restrictive, Please advise. Route 3: -Other Recommended, Please specify Concerns with route 3 Exceeding what I am willing to spend to stay NA |

From what I've seen/ read you'll need a cam to break the 500whp mark with the A8 for an NA build

It's highly unlikely to do 500whp NA without a cam. It has been done tho...
Pray had done one but I believe that car had an underdrive pulley and 2in headers as well as a ported MSD and ported ZR1 TB. Cam should get you to/above 500whp with little issue

Ported heads without the cam works too. Hear it’s a easier install

That’s my goal as well, so far I’ve got kooks headers, Cat delete, mbrp cat back, MSD manifold, e85, ported stock TB. I’d say ported heads may get you there definitely a cam. From what I’ve read the nick williams TB is overpriced for the gains you’ll get. I’d go with the much cheaper option with similar gains and port your stock Tb
