WEAPON-X.750 (Stage 2) [Camaro ZL1 gen 6, LT4]

Hey guys just wondering if anybody has this package and or something similar. My question is, are you guys have heat soak issues? Can this package handle a Track day? I have heard as soon as you upgrade pullies on factory blower that heat becomes an issue.

Side note: How is the Weapon x 800 package and heat soak. im curious because it comes with the heat exchangers.

Any input would be great. looking for reliable track power with no heat soak issues.

I'd prolly call Ben at Weapon-X, I'm sure he would be well equipped to answer those questions.

Apples and Oranges - But I can tell you from experience with my corvette, the more you mod the car, the more heat issues you are creating, especially on the track. My previous 1LT corvette is NOT a ZL-1. GM has made some great cooling improvements on the Z06, which I suspect migrated over to the ZL-1. But nevertheless, you start moding the ZL-1, you are going to have to consider cooling issues as well. Ben at Weapon X is the person you need to engage in that discussion!

Looks like that package is mainly intake, ported TB, and pulley (with some extra stuff like plugs and Tstat).

I would imagine that the 2.3 upper wouldn’t create too much heat if any but I have no experience with that. If heat is a big issue, I wonder if an intake, ported SC with 103 TB, headers, and tune would be the better route for track use? Should make great power and less heat.

The package does however include the Weapon X Heat exchangers also. Anyone with these exchangers without the chiller have heat soak issues. I totally get that they blowers once overdrive create shit ton of heat. Any input would be great. And thanks for all the support!

All of the Weapon-x packages were tested and verified on my car.
If you go to the website about the chiller, you will see that with only the minor mods, we started seeing timing being pulled already due to the August weather and heatsoak.
I have the Full Weapon-X package on the stock blower, with the Weapon-X Heat Exchangers and the Boost Freeze Chiller. The car runs Fantastic and is cool as a cucumber all the time.
Actually, I am headed to Weapon-X today for the Polished Whipple and fuel system install...then I am done!
Give Ben a call, he will do you right!

As long as you ain't whipping the blower around, you'll be find on the heat. Do either upper or lower, don't do both and spin that blower. You can always run a meth kit if you want to keep those IAT's down. Remember it's the 1's and 2's and mani temps that kill timing, so if you can control all 3, you are fine.

Would running methanol at 50/50 mix before the throttle body be enough to keep the blower cool from heat soak to not pull timing, say even with an upgraded pulley?

Upgrading the HX will suffice for your needs...but if you really start spinning the stock blower then you need a chiller!
I upgraded the HX just in case something happened to the Boost Freeze Chiller or the AC and I was away from home...that is my Safety net! lol

I like your style! Although the extra fuel and cooling benefits you get from methanol will allow you to net more power.

I'm not messing with any additive, e85, or ice...i can run 93 all day and 104 when I want to play.
My chiller has taken the water going into the blower down into the 20 degree range...in the summer it runs between 50 and 60 degrees.
