“Stage 2” Mass Acceleration Motorsports/Rankins A8

Figured the community would benefit from this rather than posting in my build thread. Kaizenspeed got the call today that my trans was ready to be put back together however, they officially released the “stage 2” builds. They have been testing aftermarket steels and clutchpacks for a while now and officially have them tried and true ready.

Of course I jumped all over this opportunity! Will make me feel much more comfortable pushing the modified 2.3 Maggie and spray.

This is great news! Nice to see the aftermarket community digging into the A8 (finally).

do you have a link..?

All i see on their website is "roho spec build"

https://mxamotorsports.com/product/m...ho-spec-build/

Included in each build:

All new Frictions/Steels – 5 Total Clutch Assemblies
Replacement of C3 Basket For Allowance of Additional Clutch Material
Upgrade of C4 Basket and Custom Steels For Allowance of Additional Clutch Material
(C4 is the most commonly failed clutch in the transmission and receives the most attention)
All clutches setup to specs tested street and strip for best performance.
Valve-body fully disassembled, cleaned, inspected and upgraded.
Base Tuning Tables for TCM for proper operation.

Are guys braking many hard parts in these transmissions? Or is it normally just clutches burnt up?

Honestly most people aren't making enough power and/or driving the cars hard enough to hurt an A8. Most failures are related to tuning or a multi-gear burnout.

Those that ARE true power caused failures are almost always the clutches/steels being hurt.
