Dash Hoods over Driver Cockpit

What is the glass/plastic that goes between Dash Cowls do, if anything?

There's nothing in the owner's manual on it.

I think you are describing the lense on the top of the dash, centered on the instrument cluster, visible though the windshield. That is the projection assembly for the heads up display.

Exactly, I checked the HUD section in owner's manual, nothing mentioned there, like keeping it clean. I have a 1LT with the tech package. I don't think HUD is equipt.
