Borla ATAK on 2019 ZL1

Hi guys, first time poster here so just want to say hello first

Ok so as the title says, I’m looking to put the Borla ATAK system on my new 2019 ZL1 but I’m in a dilemma because wherever I look I only see fitment for 2017-2018. I was just on the phone with Borla sales and the person on phone told me that they never test fitted a 2019 version yet and couldn’t guarantee it would fit, however he did say most likely there was no change.

So I’m trying to find out if anyone installed the 2017-18 version on a new 2019 yet? Or maybe if someone knows the OE part numbers on 2018 and 2019 that may help too. If those are the same I would assume the exhaust is the same.

Thanks

Tell Old Man Borla you’ll test fit it for him for 10% off.

Thank you, yes shadow gray metallic. Has hints of blue/green in it. Think it’s one of the best looking colors. Now to make sure parts fit. Can’t believe this big companies haven’t released 2019 info yet.

I just put the ATAK on my '19, cat-back, P/N 140727, no fitment issues whatsoever. I did install differently compared to instructions...I removed the entire exhaust from secondary cats to rear of car (as one unit) and made my cuts on the ground with my abrasive chop saw, then reinstalled the cats, then installed the Borla. Didn't want to cut the pipes while on the car.

Pretty straightforward install, although I wasn't pleased with the number of clamped connections - makes lining everything up and slipping the pipes together not-so-fun. I suspect they could've eliminated a couple of clamp points and charged me a few more bucks - which I would've paid to not be so annoyed.

Threw the car on the lift, uninstalled factory exhaust, made the cuts, reinstalled the cats = half hour/45 mins
Left car on the lift overnight.
UPS showed up, install took about an hour including tip line-up time...installed by myself (used my extendable oil drain tank to hold up one end when necessary).

That’s awesome news!! And yes that’s the same part number I was looking to get.

How does it sound now compared to stock ?

I’m having the performance shop by me install it as I’ve got a Roto fab and a crank pulley going on as well so there going to tune it.

Let me know how that exhaust sounds. I was going to go with corsa at first but I think the Borla sounds better and is louder.

Thanks for the reply !

Which tips did you get? I was considering the carbon fibre tips

Please post a sound clip for us all. How do you think the fitment would be on a vert?

From my understanding, you could run the Axleback, but not the full Catback on the Convertible. You would have to run the Camaro SS axleback.

I have the standard tips. My son did a video of before/after, including removal and installation. Also have cold start, revs, rural drive, freeway, etc. He'll be posting it on YT in the next few days...I'll expedite his butt and post the link here.

I'm putting mine on tomorrow. Looking forward to having the NPP option back.
