Girodisc Brake Rotors...

I did a search and don't see that anyone is running these. According to the video, you lose some swept area (Not good), but you also lose close to 5lbs of rotating mass. Has anyone run this set up?

Seeing how the rotor reached the outer edge of the brake pad, I'm not sure how you could lose swept area, but if they save 5 pounds each, that could certainly be a benefit.

Loosing mass on rotors is usually bad idea. Mass = thermal capacity, less is not better.

Of course, that all depends on your usage pattern, track car def wants that mass. Daily, or autocross - perhaps not.

Roscoe has these with Garage Therapy in NC but hasn't run them on track yet.

From what I remember from Ken's post, the ring is the same overall size however the hat is larger causing the pad shape to be different.

If the curved vent design is that much better, it could offset the cooling. Also, the Girodisc hat may be a better, lighter design. I definitely don't like the fact that the disc swept area itself is smaller.

I had the same design Girodisc 2 piece rotors and ST-43s F/R on my Evo X and they were an amazing upgrade. With the stock (4 piston front and 2 piston rear) Evo Brembos, I had no problem braking deep from very high speeds, running neck and neck with my friend in his 991 GT3RS, with zero overheat. And we were often 1-2 in the advanced group at our HPDE at ACS Roval, a very high speed track that tests your brakes.

Honestly I'd like the ability to run the 1405 series pads (C7 Z06). Lots of options and easier to get. Dumping some weight is a plus. Nice stuff!
