New ZLE first impressions compared to GT350

Another black ZLE finds a forever garage. Drove her gently home over a very chilly Oregon mountain pass last night in snow/ice mode. Liking that tire temp gage.

Coming fresh out of a GT350 my initial impression is ... torque!!!! Is the exhaust baffle even open? ...yep ... huh. I can see out of it just fine. Fighter jet cockpit vibe. Race car feels. Build quality is better than GT350. Comfy. The 1LE suspension suites me I can handle it just fine. Love seeing that wing in the rear view. People part like the Red Sea to let you pass. Love the transmission feel ... and the clutch. I can't stop rev-matching myself when trying rev-match function ... turn off. Disco lights are silly but I still played with them for 20 minutes. Street tires needed like, now. Does this thing even have an exhaust note ....? OMG the chassis is so great! Easy there ... tires barley warm ... slow it back down ... Looks like a beast in my garage. Has RBF. It's going to snow and rain the next few days ... bummer ... when does track season start again?

I like it.

Sounds like your exhaust is closed. Snow mode does actually close them

BEAUTIFUL!!!

I can’t wait for mine. When I drive it home, I think I’m gonna enjoy a six pack and just look it over for a bunch of hours. Just to absorb the looks and lines. I also ordered Black. Awesome man!!

Exhaust - track mode all the time. Crack window a bit to let noise in.

No ... it was definitely open. I went through the all the modes and then found how to leave it open in any mode in the menu as well. Annoying there is not a simple dash switch like the Shelby. The Shelby is one of the best sounding cars ever in my opinion and was very loud. Not really fair to compare that voodoo's engine note to anything. The ZL1 is oddly quiet though for the amount of fury it unleashes. Exhaust on the to buy list. Soundtrack is an important part of the experience.

There is definitely a lot to look at. It's much more brutal looking than the GT350. I wouldn't call it elegant haha. The GT350 looked like a pissed off cat with it's ears pinned back and the ZLE looks it was designed for Death Race 5000.

Made the same move here and feel the same way. Have a stainless works catback waiting to go on, pulling the fuse just wasn't enough. Congrats and enjoy your newfound torque!

Haha great review and my thoughts exactly! Mine is sitting in the back of my garage waiting for the Colorado winter to be over with already. Every time the garage opens the headlights sort of glow from the ambient outside light or my truck headlights which gives it a great evil-ish RBF look.

Wow ! Beautiful ! You got the best color, black on black, nothing better. Be careful with those track tires, I got my Z/28 180 degrees sideways in the street 2 times withe Trefeos before I put Michelin PS4s on it. Scared the crap out of me..., I had to let off and just wait for it to stop sliding, seemed like forever, then, the chassis finally straightened out. Street tires totally change the car, you can take a turn at any speed, at any tire temperature... any tram lining or harsh bumps also go away with Street tires.

BTW, does the Voodoo engine really burn as much oil as people say online ? What is your experience with your Voodoo engine ?
