Is the Borla Atak or Corsa Xtreme Louder?
I have yet to hear the Borla ATAK in person. For those that have heard both (from a axleback standpoint), would you say Corsa or Borla is louder or about the same?

I never heard the atak on a stock car but I think the corsa xtreme is louder. I had the corsa on with the stock manifolds and then with long tube headers. I now have the atak with long tubes and it sounds good and my neighbors are thankful for the valves on the borla.

I have kooks headers on my car and got the full Borla Atak system, I should be putting it on either this weekend or next week but the main reason I picked them over the cross extremes was the valves, they're life savers lol.

Makes sense! It's nice to have the ability to tame it down when running through a residential neighborhood.

I heard that about the Borla exhaust getting raspy. I want deep muscle sounds. Not raspy exotic car sounds. Guess I am old school

Neither Corsa or Borla get overly raspy. I personally like both systems, if you want Valves then obviously Borla is the way to go. I have the Corsa Xtreme with full X Pipe/no secondary cats and it's thunder from the gods on WOT but cruises quiet as stock and stays very tame below 50-60% throttle. Has a pissed off note and growl to it that is very characteristic of the LT4 but hidden by the blatty stock suitcase. As to which is louder, I'd guess that the Xtreme is a little louder on WOT but likely just as quiet on cruise if not quieter.
Oh and cold starts with the Corsa (no valves) are straight up nasty. If you have irritable, non-American neighbors, go with Borla.

That would be an option, but it would be down the road. I'm doing basic bolt-ons that are easily removable in case I need warranty work. Once the powertrain is up, all hell will break loose lol.

I too would love to have this setup. I had the Atak on my SS and it sounded so good. Make sure you post a sound clip.

If you're going to do Headers and don't want the stock suitcase, I would get the ARH long (not full) system and pair it with Borla, Corsa, or AWE. No discussion. |
