Best way to turn off AFM?
I never had any issues or problems with the AFM/DOD system when I had the stock exhaust on the car. I used to think these people are crazy when they were complaining about the system. So because of that, I chose to keep the AFM valves intact on the new Stainless Works cat-back exhaust that I just had installed, along with 2” headers. Now I wish would have bought the AFM Delete system! Wow, the vibration is intense when the car kicks in to V4 mode now!!! So, with that being said, what’s the best way to turn off the AFM system these days? Is it something that can be “turned off” during the tune? I have not had the car tuned yet, but plan to soon. Are there some sort of electronic gizmos that I am supposed to buy to plug into the AFM connectors? I want to remove the motors completely from under the car. Are the actual flapper valves spring-loaded to the open position or something on my SW exhaust? How can I make sure they don’t inadvertently close? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I am now a full-fledged member of the “I hate AFM” Club!!!
Oh BTW, other than this AFM issue, my new SW exhaust sounds incredible!!! |

If you are having the car tuned, yes.. its very simple. 1 switch in the tune and it's off. If you plan to keep stock tune for a while you can get a Range AFM delete device.. plugs into OBDII port and turns it off. Can remove when taking to dealer.
