Question Anyone know how to fix this exhaust problem?

Around the 23 second mark you will hear a rappid popping noise that also happens when I go from 3rd to 4th gear.. it happens every cold start as well just at the beginning.. it’s annoying to say the least.. I have a BTR stage 1 cam, kooks LT with off road pipes and muffler delete.. zero cats.. stock x pipe and the thebpinch pipes are still present.. all the shops are claiming it’s because I don’t have a muffler but I’m not buying that.. before the headers and cam when I took the mufflers off... I love the sound of the car but like I said driving it causes that annoying rapid popping sound...

https://youtu.be/HSgvALcG9GA

Please help lol...

The video says, “untuned”. Is that accurate?

Yea then it was untuned but it’s still makeong the noise now that it is... this was the only video that I have with it because I’m just now getting frustrated with it... after asking around everyone wants to say it’s becaues I don’t have a muffler and try to quote me 1800 for a full exhaust system..

You said that it happens in a specific gear, is it at a consistent RPM? It almost sounds like the noise I don't like on mine just above 1500 RPM's. I control it by either throttle control or by manual shifting.

It happens often from 3rd to 4th gear and that’s when it’s at its worst.. other than that it’s bareable.. and I can control it with going super easy on the throttle.. haven’t tried the manual shift yet.. it just happens at certain frequencies... and like I said before I’m not sold on me not having a muffler is what’s causing it.. thought it was maybe the extra pressure going thru the pinch pipes causing that terrible popping noise..

Are you running a similar set up?? If not what are you running that’s giving you the similar noise?

Kooks headers to race pipes (no cats).

So you are still rocking the muffler?

Well deleting the crunched pipes didn’t work.. kinda made it not as loud when it happens but still there... next month I’ll just do the magnaflow x pipe and see if that helps... if not then I’ll put a muffler on and see if that gets rid of it..

Yea you are pretty much stuck with that sound unless you change exhaust or something. I have kooks without cats and when I still had npp that was something that always happened on my cold start.

I think more a frequency in a given RPM range than anything else that is resonating through the system not sure what you can do about that besides adding mufflers/resonators somewhere.

Just on the cold start and not any other time?? If that’s the case I’ll get some aggressive mufflers and just put them on..

Yea it was on my cold start. I upgraded to AWE for something more aggressive. The headers with no cats was a little to raspy for me especially on those cold starts.

Even with muffler/cat delete that does not sound normal. Any losse of power when you notice that sound? If you no a guy in the area that has similar set up, I would compare sounds.

I would have liked to hear the exhaust from the rear in the center, it almost sounds like it’s coming more from the passenger side. Did you get rid of all valves if you had NPP?
