Dual Mode NPP Exhaust Sound Question

2018 2ss automatic with dual mode npp exhaust and K&N cold air intake.

When I am cruising around at a steady speed and gently hit the acceleration, the car accelerates smoothly.

However, when I am cruising around at a steady speed and floor it, there is a brief hesitation, I hear a click and then the car moves. At first I though it was the AFM, but when I floored it, the DIC said it was still in V8 mode.
Am I hearing and feeling the dual npp exhaust valves opening?

Lastly: no click heard or hesitation felt when flooring it from a direct stop, which makes me think it is the dual mode npp exhaust valves. Any ideas?

The valves do not cause anywhere near enough restriction for that... That's the electronic throttle voodoo lagging.

From what I've gathered, a tune will remove this throttle lag and improve responsiveness. I'm waiting until my warranty is over to tune my car for the same reason.

Thanks! I'm not going near that engine until the warranty is over. LOL!

yes yes, torque management is a pain, but atleast you are A8, and can tune it out. I don't believe the M6 guys even have the option.
