2019 rear storage box (formerly wireless charging)
I noticed that the 2019 Camaro does not have the wireless charging pad behind the console, only a open storage box. Since I never use my charging pad, I was wondering if the new storage box can replace it without much modifications. Can always use more storage in the Camaro.

that is how the 1ss is, which is why most 1LEs are that way. but, a 2ss or 2ss 1le, or premium trim has the wireless charge.

The wireless charging pad is something I heard for several 2SS owners gripe about and say they'd rather have the storage space in place of it.

I think a much nicer setup, although I doubt it will come to the 6th gen, would be wireless charging pad somewhere behind the gear lever with Wireless CarPlay.

You can buy the storage coin holder. Just takes removing about 8 screws and unhooking the wire harness for the wireless charging pad. I was thinking about trying to relocated the wireless charging piece in mine now that i have the coin holder/storage installed.
I got mine from replacement radios, but looks like they may have closed down their site. Part is under $40 I believe. |

The wireless charger position in my opinion was the worst possible place for it. Lay it there and the first hard turn sends it flying. Oh wait, no one in a Camaro would ever make a hard turn.

I am pretty far from being considered ‘techy’.... but I plugged into android CarPlay, and stowed my phone on the charging shelf.... I love it. I have pandora, maps, phone at my finger tips on the screen.
I have a charge pad in my Yukon Denali also, but I think you need a pretty new phone for it to work.... |

Bought one of these on Amazon. it was made to go next to the seat, but I trimmed the back plate down to make it narrower with a utility knife and put between the back of the charging tray and the front of the back seat. Holds my iPhone 10 perfectly and a small cubby for mints, change, gum, etc. Also drilled hole in bottom and ran the iPhone cable from the console down behind the drivers seat under the trim, because I constantly use CarPlay anyway.
