Just Drive It

I was just curious as to how many of the ZL1 owners just take their car out and drive it. No reason, made up reason or just any reason at all to hop in the car and go anywhere or nowhere in particular. I find myself doing this a lot on Saturdays, early evening or on Sundays for just the classic Sunday drive.

Mine is a mostly daily driver, except for recently when we have been getting rain nearly everyday. I won't pull it out of the garage, into the rain, too often. It can also be that this rain makes me want to drive it even more when the sky and the roads clear for a bit.

I have a daily driver as well. Rain, sleet, and some very light snow. Besides work, I purposefully look for a reason to take her for a spin!

I'll drive mine every day during the warmer months. I also try to get lost for no reason in a 50-70 mile radius whenever I have time, damn compass makes it so I always get back home though...

Mine is also a daily driver. Mainly because my Son blew out the rear main seal on his BMW X3. So, he is driving my truck until we get his SUV fixed. :-)

Mine is my daily. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Hell, I linked up with a MOPAR club last month just to put some miles on it, and rip through the maintains.

Every single day. That's its job. It's not garage queen, its job is to get dirty, lay down rubber when possible and be mid teens mpg daily driver.

That's pretty much the entire reason I bought the car. Just to drive and enjoy.
Sometimes on the weekends I look at a map and pick a random place 80-100 miles away and just go drive. Stop to eat, then find a different route back.

Becky,

I know that living north of the North Pole does cut into the driving season. I too, support track sessions. We are now in peak track season down here (too hot for June-August).

I don't daily drive my mine ( at the expense of being labeled a total D-bag I will admit I have a tesla), but I look for any reason on the weekend to drive it. It's fun having two cars that are so opposite. In my opinion there is nothing even close to the ZL1 for the money. Living in So Cal the car is a blast on canyon roads and I've yet to see anything match its performance. A good friend of mine has a car that can "corner," an e92 M3, that just gets destroyed...I frequently stop and get out of the car and wait on Angeles Crest for him to catch up. The sad part is I feel like I am only doing 50% of the cars potential.

For fun I did chase down a guy going all out in a WRX...until he pulled over to let me by. Not entirely fair...but still fun
