The FlowFX Axle-back System (part #717744) will have a moderate exhaust note and have the "quietest" in cabin tone. The American Thunder Axle-back System (part #817744) will have a more noticeable tone both in and out of the vehicle when compared to the FlowFX option. The American Thunder Axle-back is probably our most popular choice of the three. Finally, The Flowmaster Outlaw Axle-back System (part #817745) is our most aggressive Axle-back for the 6th gen Camaro. This system includes the Outlaw Race Muffler, our most aggressive street muffler. This system is not for the faint of heart and maybe too aggressive for a daily driver. But if you want loud then this is your system. Remember, all of these Axle-back options can be used with the stock exhaust system (forward of the rear axle) or used along with the Flowmaster Scavenger Series X-Pipe, part #81083. Also keep in mind that the addition of an X-pipe may increase the exhaust note as will the addition of other "power adders" such as long tube headers, CAI's, turbos or superchargers, etc. You have purchased a great platform with the Camaro SS and there are thousands of performance options out there. If you have any questions about our performance products for your ride please feel free to PM me or call us at 707-544-4761. - Jason @ Flowmaster |

I like the MBRP myself, I have the stainless axle back and it sounds good. That said, if your car didn't come with NPP and doens't have the dual exhaust cutout you need to factor that in.

I'm all for vendors participating in these forums, but the response from Flowmaster is straight marketing. I'm sure the intention of the OP was to get opinions from the group and not a sales pitch from a vendor. RDP's response is much more appropriate. Thoughts, mods?

Having said all of that. I have the MBRP axleback, it was a great bang for the buck mod and added a ton of screaming eagles. Easy to install as well, did it in my driveway on ramps.
