V6 1LE questions
I noticed a Carmax near me has a V6 1LE in stock. Unusual car, and one that I would have considered had it been there when I bought mine. Does anyone happen to know this car?
https://www.carmax.com/car/16486079?...rpage_16486079 Also, as crazy as it sounds, do you think it would be worth trading my just purchased new 17 LT RS V6 manual for this 9k mile V6 1LE? I like the look and upgrades of the 1LE. I bet it wouldn't cost much to trade. I worry that 1LE may have had a hard 9k miles though. |

Don't do it.
If you are going to take a beating trading your brand new car in on another car, try to find one with much lower miles. If you are really serious, look the car over real, real good. Get it up on a lift, go over every inch. Make sure the tires are original, there's a date code on each tire, they should all be very close/the same, and predate the manufacture date of the car. Tread depth should be the same front to rear. Calipers should have good paint, no discoloration. You know the car you own, who knows what this car has done, or had done to it. Nothing wrong with a used car, but there is always that chance you take.

I saw that one earlier today online. I think you can find a new 2018 model for close to what they want and not have to worry about who had it first and what they did to it. There was a 2018 V6 1LE local that was advertised at $24k and I missed out on it, just search around and I am sure you could get something close to the same price new.

Hmmm... I am suspicious that the $24k offer will fall apart for anyone showing up to buy the car. Maybe some discounts included that nobody will qualify for, or multiple discounts included that don't actually stack. Or it's a dealer vehicle with a bunch of miles but has never been titled to a buyer. I offered $24.3k on a leftover yellow 2017 1LE a few months ago and the dealership turned me down. But, that said, a really hard bargain on a new car can often come within spittin' distance of the price on a year old used car. And CarMax prices, I like to say, are the most someone should ever pay for a used car, plus I've found the condition of their cars to be average to below-average. YMMV. |

Is that a 1LE? Or a base LS with a black hood and alcantara steering wheel? The reason I'm asking is it looks like a base gauge package in the dash. Also, I dont see strut bracing under the hood or Brembo brakes through the wheels. How many of those options are part of a 1LE package?

I think it looks good, but I bought my V6 1LE with 10k miles, and for more than that, but mine is a 2LT. ... I'm sure I paid too much for mine, but it was the only V6 1LE I saw and I wanted it for autocross and hopefully some track events too. 1LE brakes on the V6 are just the silver brembos from the SS, not the red ones so it's probably right. It looks like it has the NPP exhaust. All car decisions are bad financial decisions, just try to make sure this is something you will keep for a while.

Looks clean. If you really want a 1LE and you like the car I'd say go for it. But are you sure you don't want an SS? The V6 1LE is basically an SS with a V6 engine. You might want to wait and look for a manual 1SS, probably wouldn't cost you that much more.

I would recommend you look around. You should be able to find a new V6 1LE around that price. From what I have seen many dealers have a hard time selling the V6 1LE as most people who are going to buy one want a V8. I bought my new 2017 LS V6 1LE in may of this year for $21,388. The deals are out there ya just gotta look and be patient.
