Auto dimming mirror

Is there a way to disable this feature? I cannot stand it.

Yes. It’s in the screen. You can turn one or two off.

Wait. I was talking about tilt down in reverse. I’m not sure about dimming. Sorry.

Yes, it is the left most soft button at the bottom of the mirror. Next to the blue Onstar and Red SOS soft buttons.

I actually discovered this my accident last night.

This only turns off the rear-view mirror though, not the driver's side mirror.

Thank you. I'll try and find it.

Here is the Button... The little dude with the signal coming from his head, that is the soft button.

Sorry for the sideways pic.

The owner's manual calls this the "voice command button" and advises to press it to

° Make a call, end a call,
or answer an incoming call.
° Give OnStar Hands-Free Calling
voice commands.
° Give OnStar Turn-by-Turn
Navigation voice commands.
° Obtain and customize the Wi-Fi®
network name or SSID, and
password, if equipped.

Are you sure this controls the dimming feature of the rearview mirror? Might be a side effect as the car starts listening for voice commands.

Just a Question, but why don't you want it to dim? Also its wired to the headlights. If your headlights or running lights come on the sensors are active. Not with the DRL's. There is no button on the mirror itself to turn it off.

I have my windows tinted and it just really makes it hard to see. I've never been a fan of that feature. It's already hard enough seeing out of this car and when you mess with the mirrors I'm screwed. I suppose I could not drive at night.

I have my windows tinted and mine doesn't dim because of it. That's weird that yours is dimming. I wish mine would dim sometimes when I drive with the windows down at night.
