Winter tires for 1ss 1LE
Hey there!
I just picked up a 2018 1SS 1LE and I am planning on my winter set up. I saw someone selling a set of stock 2012 Camaro LT 18" wheels with blizzaks locally for a very good price. They are 18x7.5 with ~38mm offset I believe. The tires are 235/60/18. Will these work with the 1LE Brembo's. I know it might be tight, but is it even possible? Thanks! |

I don't think 18s fit over the 6 piston brakes.

If they are local, test fit before trading cash for tires.

The 38mm offset may not clear the front suspension, sway bars, and steering.

I made spreadsheets to look at tire diameter for various combinations of rims and tires.
Then I made a spreadsheet that calculated the effective width based on offset and everything else. Both of these I was able to compare to stock. I have the radius within 1/4" or so and the width within a few mm, I went with 255 tires for winter. 19" rims. The car is way under-tired with even 255s, I wouldn't go any less. I got my setup so I could drive around in the winter a bit and exercise the fluids, battery, etc.

I'm starting to plan ahead for my '19 1LE that I plan to purchase in the winter (to maximize incentives). I remember reading before that 20s were the way to go and to avoid 19s? What's the reasoning behind that? Tire choices? Or maybe I'm confusing that. The more I read about this the more I get confused.
