Goodyear F1
Has anyone else had issues with the Goodyear F1 tires? I purchased my brand new leftover 2017 2SS in Miami this past Sunday. On my way back to Orlando I almost wrecked on I95 when it started to rain. I felt the car lift right up off the ground and hydroplane back and forth through 3 lanes before I was able to correct and save it. I was an a straight part of road and wasn't making a lane change or anything. Imagine buying your car brand new and wrecking it on the way home. It was a nightmare of a thought. So when I got home I looked at the tires and see that the F1's have no tread to move the water from the center treads. In Florida and our rain this doesn't seem like a good option of tire! Has anyone else had issues with them? Any recommendations on a good performance tire but able to handle the wet roads?

I personally have not had issues in the rain and I have 5/32 thread left on my tires. I think there is difference between wet road and standing water. It's possible maybe you hit a patch of standing water? Glad to see you are ok.

Rain on the road should not be a problem, standing puddles MUST be avoided like the plague because the tread of the tires are more kin to slicks than street tires. |

These tires are more susceptible to hydroplaning than most. If you are used to driving on a mediocre tire or all season...these will seem impossible to handle.
You MUST adjust your speed for the conditions, especially with a high performance tire, and drive with care to avoid standing water. |
