First "Fill up"?

So I went to the gas station to get some gas.

Read on here that when the click comes do not try and top off.

So, not wanting to douse myself in gas, click came. I stopped.

Only 8 gallons in (was at roughly 1/4 tank).

Felt this did not add up and no it didn't.

Did not even reach 3/4 of a tank.

What is the deal with filling up? Is this an issue in the 6th Gen.?

Thanks for any answers.

I set the nozzle at the slowest setting. It usually gets pretty full.

I had that issue from time to time on my 2LT. The problem ended up being that the nozzle was not seated correctly and would shutoff to soon. End result was that I just needed to re-seat the nozzle and it would fill correctly. Its not an issue I run into much as I live in Oregon and its rare to find a pump that lets you do it yourself.

I have this issue on certain pumps, others work fine. Next time try a different pump until you find one that works well for your car.

Generally you know how much will 'fit'. So if you are empty and not clicks after 10 gallons....you know you got lots of room. Keep going

If you're not at least into it for fifty bucks, you're doing it wrong.

I had this happen a few times when i first got my Camaro but then after a number of fill ups it went away and haven't had that issue since.

That's true. After all, why eat? You'll just get hungry again.
