Hi guys,
I asked for a quote to change pulley and tune for my Zl1 A10, the pulley offered leaving all exhaust oem was: INNOVATORS WEST LOWER LT4 BALANCER WITH 8.6" METCO RING (~2 PSI increase) Plus tune the car. $2,600. What do you think about the price and the results that I can achive? To change the headers with ARH no cats plus xpipe increase the cost to $5.6k but is a 9.1 pulley and around 3.5psi The car only have Tont TB and green filter nowadays |

$5.6K = More money more performance - ask them for the expectation. Be prepared for a lot louder and +100hp faster.

Do you live in a 93 octane state?
Go with the 9.17" lower (+18%). FYI, I paid the same but it included Kooks 2", catch can, cai, plugs and TB.

I guess I have no idea what the cost of tuning really is or even what the install time and labor for something like this. Kinda thought maybe took a couple of hours to install but im going based off of older cars I guess. |

You can get the balancer and pulley for 715.00, 400.00 HP Tuners credits 500.00 for a tune =$1625.00 leaves $985.00 for labor That is a fair price. Lot work to do the pulley. I would do everything at once if it was me, which it was! LOL I went Rotofab Intake, ported TB, Innovators West with 9.10, 2" Kooks into the factory suitcase ( never thought I would say this but almost to loud, got kick off the track for hitting 108DB)

I would not do 18% on 93 pump gas with no other cooling mods, it can be done though, up to you. Just know your tuner is going to have to use less timing and have a higher chance of retard, and will pull more timing after hard runs. You'll end up with similar power to a lower % over drive balancer but with more heat and not much to show for it.
Anything past 9% and you'll need headers, and you should go cat-less. Any and all high flow cats, green cats, etc. will burn down and fail eventually, especially if you have lots of usage or track intentions for the car. Pricing is going to be all over the place, depends on the shop and parts. $5600 seems to be fair for the whole shebang. I would consider porting work at that point too, just leaving power on the table if you don't. Kong picked up 3 PSI just doing their race port, IMO Kong is the best in the game of porting LS/LT blowers. Get ARH headers too, from what I've seen they fit better on these cars and get the long system that dumps all the way in the back by the suit-case muffler, this way you ditch the factory X Pipe, crushed rear pipes, and secondary cats. |
