Texas Speed Headers 2" or 1 7/8"
Just about to pull the trigger on Some Long tubes, Found a great deal on http://www.juicedmotorsports.com free shipping with discount (6%) for texas speed headers. But having a hard time deciding between the size. does anyone have the 2" and had issues with the steering shaft that everyone talks about, also the plug wires. Would it be better to just stick with the 1 7/8" to have more clearance with the wires and hopefully the steering shaft bolt? Lastly I would probably install these myself so would really like to know what im loosing by going with 1 7/8" and what would I gain going with 2". Also to note my exhaust is stock npp with secondary cat delete dont plan on getting rid of the NPP for a long time. Thanks for any input.

1 7/8 is more then enough for a bolt-on car. 2" would be good for a aggressive H/C/I car or forced induction setup. You will need a different bolt for the steering shaft which is supplied in the TSP kit. You will also need to check clearance on the engine harness that runs down the inner fender well and some spark plug heat shields from DEI would be a good idea.

I’m a do it once, do it right kind of guy. I don’t like the idea that I would have to, or at least want to, swap out my headers as I expand my mod list.
I’d rather just get 2” headers and be done with it the first time.

Thanks for this input, I was definitely looking into the Shield for the wires, are you referring to the "Boots" for the wires? or Pipe shield? |
