Powerstop Z26 ROTORS & Pads
It's time for me to switch my rotors and pads on the SS. I was wondering if anyone has switched to the Powerstop drilled/slotted Z26 rotors here yet??? I'm a little skeptical on buying them (as I always am after reading the forums) as many have stated that they will not last long whereas others have said they want to buy...but never posted about them.
These are the ones I'm considering: https://www.carid.com/powerstop/1-cl...2&url=81740003

Got them for Christmas, so sorry I can not help with longevity. A little disappointed in the early morning squealing, but the brakes work great and the wheels do stay clean.

Love mine.. I only get a squeak if she has been sitting for hours and hours in moist air.,., .and then it stops after two pedal pushes.
Initial bite is a tiny bit soft - but they work fine. I love the look also. NO dust

Same here. Put Power Stops on my big Diesel and on my Camaro, they are great brakes, I'm very happy.

I have the powerstop pads, I spoke to a mechanic at dealership and asked about slotted or drilled rotors. He told me they are same quality as normal rotors just look better. Is this true?

I have the Extreme kit on my Mustang with Cobra brakes and coupled with SS brake lines, I love them. Great kit.. Make sure to bed the pads according to the instructions included with the kit. Great stuff IMHO.

Same here. Big improvement over OEM Brembos dust and squealing but I did not like the morning squeal so I replaced my Z26 for Z23's.

Perhaps under heavy track use, but not on a daily driver

I have the pads, but not the rotors. Love the pads. Like the look of the slotted rotors also, but not enough to buy them. Seams to me the loss of surface area could be detrimental to stopping distance as a trade off for the increased cooling.

Is there an advantage to replacing the rotors too? I have some brake shudder (only at high speeds). I will replace with the z26 pads shortly since oem pads are way too dusty. But the car only has 8000 miles, I don't want to replace rotors unless there is a significant improvement. I'd rather stay as stock as possible, especially if performance is better.
