Not sure how this happened

So I took my car into the dealer last week for them to replace my windshield washer fluid pump. Today as I left work, I noticed my blinker blinking fast. Upon further inspection I found that the wires to the front passenger blinker are torn into. I Don’t know how it happened.. either way the plug is going to be $180 bucks installed. Going to try to solder the wires before I tell them to fix it. Not sure if the plug disassembles further in order to just replace the wires and solder in new ones. Guess I can’t break it any more than it is already broken though. See pics below

Could also be rodent related.
