Dual Zone HVAC - Hot on one side, cold on the other
Hey guys. I've got a 2016 2SS with dual zone climate control. Just wondering if anyone has come across the issue of having the driver side vents blow hot while the passenger side is ice cold? I've tried pulling the HVAC fuses located in the trunk to try and get things to recalibrate but that hasn't worked. Also, changing the temp works for the passenger side and defrost and floor vents also work. Everything works perfectly fine except I get hot air from the driver side...
Seems like I only have the issue on particularly hot days. If the outside temp is mid to low 70s, everything is fine. When it gets into the 80s like it has the past couple of weeks (Florida), I get this issue... Sometimes if I run the car a bit then park it and shut it off for 20 minutes or so, it will act normal again. But this doesn't work every time either. I'm thinking it might be the driver side blend door actuator but can't be sure. I've got an incredibly crazy work schedule so it's very difficult for me to be able take this thing to the dealer and spend the time sitting there while they're looking at it. Also don't want to be without my car for weeks if I don't have to be. Anyone know where the driver side blend door actuator is located? Fearing it's up behind the dash and if it is, I'll be taking the car in (definitely not going to be pulling the dash for a warranty item). If it's accessible though, I may attempt to swap the actuators to see if it rectifies this issue. Just need a good starting place on trying to locate the thing. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! EDIT: Found the driver side blend door actuator. If anyone needs to know it's location for future reference, it's located in the driver side footwell up about a foot looking toward the center of the dash. Mounted with 4 screws with 1 electrical connector. Gonna grab a replacement for it today and see if I can swap these things out to fix my issue. Will update. Drivers side cold. Passenger hot. Even with just the windshield defrost on, driver side cold and closer to the passenger side is warm.....??? Any update. Or anyone else experience this?
